The Huawei Watch GT made its debut last October along with the Mate 20 series, and it seems that this year the Chinese company is preparing a follow-up that will probably be released on September 19 at the Mate 30 event, that is, if not See the light of day in a separate IFA presentation this week.
Ladies and gentlemen, get to know the Huawei Watch GT 2, seen here in all its splendor in the leaked official press renders. The GT 2 does not try to reinvent the wheel, but it brings some solid improvements, although minor, compared to its predecessor.
It has a slightly larger screen and smaller bezels, and is generally thinner and more compact. It also has a larger battery, at 445 mAh (compared to 420 mAh). The Watch GT 2 will also use a microphone and a speaker, which means that you can make calls directly on it, and that makes us wonder if it has a version with some type of cellular connectivity.
The GPS is still built in, just like the optical heart rate monitor, and as you can see in the images, you can choose between two styles. The Huawei Watch GT 2 Sport is the completely black model with a sports rubber band, while the Watch GT 2 Classic is black / silver with the brown leather strap. The power of both is Huawei’s patented portable platform, there is no trace of Wear OS by Google here.
